Many Times-Union readers want to know:
I have an email saying that The Freedom Group is buying up all the American gun and ammunition companies. The email says that The Freedom Group is owned by Cerberus Capital Management. And the owner of Cerberus is George Soros, a very liberal financier who wants to control America's guns. The email asks why the media hasn't reported this. Why hasn't it been reported?
For good reason. It's not true.

Urban Land Institute teaches students responsible land use
Urban Land Institute of North Florida recently partnered with two local high schools for an exercise in urban planning. Seniors at Nease High School in Ponte Vedra and Episcopal High School in Jacksonville participated in UrbanPlan, a program designed to educate tomorrow’s neighbors, community leaders, public officials and land use professionals in order to create better communities.

Members of Congress, European Union talking in Jacksonville about finance, transportation
Members of Congress and the European Parliament will meet in Jacksonville this evening to open a weekend conference on international business and political issues.
Financial market stability and transportation security are expected to top the discussion list for the Transatlantic Legislators' Dialogue, a biannual exchange between the legislatures.
"The meeting is extremely timely, with view of the sovereign debt and economic crisis on both sides of the Atlantic," the European delegation's chairman, Elmar Brok of Germany, said in written comments.

First Coast News: T-bone collision sends St. Johns deputy to hospital
A St. Johns County Sheriff's deputy has been sent to a hospital after a collision Wednesday night, according to Times-Union news partner First Coast News.
A St. Augustine police spokesman told First Coast News a woman was making a left turn onto San Carlos Avenue from Ponce De Leon Boulevard and into the path of the deputy. The deputy tried to avoid the collision but T-boned her car.
Both were sent to Flagler Hospital for injuries that were described as moderate, according to First Coast News.
Neither driver was identified in the First Coast News report.
