Area Golf Notebook: Rollinson wins dual honors in Northern Chapter PGA

Brad Rollinson scored the first dual player of the year honors in the Northern Chapter PGA.

Rollinson, a life member of the PGA of America, captured player of the year on both the chapter points list and the senior points list. He had 1,490 player-of-the-year points and 1,690 Cup Match points in chapter events; and 1,785 points on the senior points list.

Rollinson beat out Cary Splane (1,610 points) for chapter honors and Gerry James (1,615) in the senior race.

Deputies in Camden County and investigators with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation found a woman's body in a wooded area Wednesday afternoon.

Eagle Landing tennis tourney gives $9,000 to area charities

Proceeds from the Eagle Landing Tennis Classic will be divided among three Northeast Florida charities — J.P. Hall Sr. Children Charities, Mali Vai Washington Kids Foundation and the Wounded Warrior Project.

Each of the charities will receive $3,000, according to a news release.

The annual tournament, which is held in May, has supported the Hall and Washington charities for three years. With over $9,000 in donations for 2011, the tournament added The Wounded Warrior Project to their charities of choice, according to the release.
